I’m very excited to announce that I will have some drawings in the group show Character Traits, opening THIS THURSDAY @ Asya Geisberg Gallery in Chelsea, NYC. I will be showing two new drawings and a selection of recent work alongside 8 other incredible artists. This show was curated by the very talented Matthew Craven who worked hard to make this show something really special. So, if you’re in NYC, swing by on Thursday from 6-8pm. I’ll be there! Asya Geisberg Gallery is located at 537b West 23rd Street New York, NY
In comics news, 2d Cloud will be publishing my book Gulag Casual, a collection of 5 stories—it will be available in limited quantities in November at shows and festivals first and then in bookstores starting in April. A small preview of the book can be viewed now on the publishers website.
I’m also pleased to announce that I have been awarded a residency through The Sharpe Walentas Studio Program. I am the recipient of a 2015-2016 space award of a yearlong rent-free studio in DUMBO, Brooklyn. 17 visual artists were selected from over 1,000 applicants by a panel of jurors including: Diana Al-Hadid, Phong Bui, Michael Berryhill, Carl Fudge, and Beverly McIver. The residency period will last from September 2015 to August 2016, with an open studios weekend, to be scheduled for spring 2016.
This is an incredible program and an opportunity to create new kinds of work. I’m beyond excited to start working on new art in DUMBO starting in September!
