Mexican ‘sensacionales’ free with every order to the DOMINO shop!
Posted: May 14, 2013 Filed under: News 1 CommentOne of the best parts about being in TCAF this last weekend was cartoonist Ines Estrada giving us a bunch of Mexican comics (or “sensacionales”) for us to give out free with orders to the DOMINO shop. We don’t have a ton, so if you want some, order now! These are great, lurid, sexy, violent comics that are available everywhere in Mexico that you can’t find here. Thanks Ines!
DOMINO @ TCAF!
Posted: May 8, 2013 Filed under: News Leave a commentHey y’all. DOMINO is going to TCAF in Toronto this weekend! We will have all of the DOMINO books at our table, plus hard to find zines and art books from artists we love. We’re mainly excited to come to TCAF because Space Basket artist Jonathan Petersen lives in Toronto. There will be an all new zine by Petersen at our table called ‘It Could Be Funny.’
I’ve been told there are very few of these left, so swing by DOMINO to grab one—and get a signed copy of Space Basket while you’re at it! Petersen also has a new shirt which will be at the table.
Anyway—see you guys this weekend in Toronto! Can’t wait to check out Hot ‘n Dog!
282 BROADWAY/Cartoon House
Posted: April 19, 2013 Filed under: News 3 Comments
Hey everyone! A lot of you may have heard about this already, but DOMINO is losing our headquarters, 282 Broadway/Cartoon House (also the place that I and many other people in the arts/comics community live out of). It’s a sad situation—-so much work has been made in this apartment, and many artists/cartoonists/people-involved-in-art have called it their home over the last decade, including Lizz Hickey, Jon Vermilyea, Jesse McManus, Clara Bessijelle, Bald Eagles/Victor Cayro, Christopher Ortiz, Becca Kacanda, Jeff Ladoceur, Dave Nuss, Bill Kartalopoulos, Aidan Koch and myself, Austin English. The apartment has also been a ‘safe-house’ for cartoonists and artists visiting New York—-it would be hard to list all the people who have crashed here for a day or a week or months while working on their art.
The space also serves as the headquarters for 3 small publishers—-DOMINO, Rebus Books and Revival House. For small businesses like ours, the move will be involved and cut into our already razor-thin-margins operations. Make no mistake, we will survive and continue to thrive after this move! BUT—-DOMINO is asking for your help today by asking for one simple thing: if you’ve been considering ordering any of our books——especially the 6 books we publish, DARK TOMATO, SPIDER MONKEY, FACE MAN, DIFFICULT LOVES, SPACE BASKET or TUSEN HJARTAN STARK—-now would be a wonderful time for you to go ahead and buy them! We offer all six books together for $26 (you get TUSEN for free, plus pay no shipping). But, really, any order today helps us out with this move and lightens our load (less books, less to move)!
Thanks you guys! Link to the store below—-check it out and feel free to share this! http://dominobooks.org/store.html

Check-Marks at Open Space Opening Photos!
Posted: March 12, 2013 Filed under: News 2 CommentsOpen Space Baltimore hosted the March 8th opening of CHECK-MARKS, a group exhibition I curated with work by Nick Payne, James Ulmer, Leif Low-beer, Jason T Miles, Molly Colleen O’Connell, Wiley Guillot and Becca Kacanda. Open Space did a wonderful job presenting the work, and the opening itself was incredibly fun! If you’re in Baltimore, the show runs until April 15th—but in you can’t make it, here are some photos of the opening and the art!
